Q: How many divisions are within the School of Engineering at

The School of Engineering has three divisions. 1) Warwick
Manufacturing Group [WMG]; 2) Division of Civil and Mechanical Engineering;
3) Division of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Q: Is the Regional Office an agent working for
Warwick?
The Regional Office is not an agency. We are an
office of the School of Engineering, and report directly to
admission offices in the UK. Offer and rejection letters

Q: What is the application
deadline?
There is no official
application deadline. However, we strongly advise students to apply
before June in order to be guaranteed on-campus accommodation.
Q: How long does it take to
process my postgraduate application?
For students applying to WMG
courses and who have sent their applications directly to the
Regional Office, we will reply to your application with an offer or
rejection within one month in most cases. WMG applications sent to
the UK will take substantially longer to reply as materials may need
to be forwarded back to the Regional Office for handling.
The processing times for
all other courses, including those under Civil & Mechanical
Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; and undergraduate
courses, is normally about 2 months but are dependent on the processing rates for each respective
department.
Q: What exams are used to meet the English language requirement for international students?
We accept either the IELTS or TOEFL. Verbal
scores on the GRE or GMAT cannot be used to fulfill the
English language requirement. You may also wish to reference our
English Language Requirement.
Q: I received my undergraduate degree from an
English speaking country, do I still need to meet the English
Language Requirement?
Students who have studied in an English speaking
country (including U.S.A., Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New
Zealand, etc.) for at least 2 years, with English as the primary
teaching medium, may be exempted from the English Language Requirement.
Q: How should I post or courier my application to
your office?
We have found that applications sent via EMS is the
most efficient method to Hong Kong. Students using other

Q: What does it mean if I received a Conditional
Offer of Acceptance?
A Conditional Offer of Acceptance means that we have
offered you a place at Warwick in the course you applied,
but only if you fulfill the condition(s) stated on the offer. Failure to meet the stated requirement(s)
may disqualify you from attending Warwick.
Q: Should I wait and mail the Green Card with my full
transcript?
Yes, you should mail the Green Card together with
your full transcript, degree and graduation certificates as soon as it becomes available.
Q: When should I apply for my visa to the UK? Can
I apply for a visa with the conditional offer letter?
To apply for the visa, you can either bring with you
the Unconditional Offer or the Conditional Offer (with supporting
documents proving you have met our conditions). You may wish to
consult the
British Embassy on the
appropriate time to apply for the student visa.

Pre-Sessional English Course |
Q: Where can I apply for the pre-sessional English
course?
Application can be applied
online. Please note that you can only
apply to this course if the condition on pre-sessional English
Language Course is stated in your Conditional Offer of Acceptance.
Q: How much does the course costs?
Each phase of the course costs
£1,395 for 2008/2009. This is inclusive of the tuition
fee, accommodation, visits and all social & cultural events. Please
note that a non-refundable deposit of £200 needs to be paid using
the online deposit payment system when the Application is submitted.
Q: How long is the course?
The course is 10 weeks in length in
total, divided into 2 phases. However, students applying for WMG MSc
courses are only allowed to take the second phase of the course,
i.e. 5 weeks.
Q: Who conducts the pre-sessional English course?
The
pre-sessional English language course is conducted by the Centre for
Applied Linguistics
of Warwick University. Please contact the Centre for Applied
Linguistics directly for more
information.
Q: Is the final exam given
by Warwick or is there an IELTS/ TOEFL test?
After the
pre-sessional English course, you will be required to take the
Warwick English Language Test (WELT) instead of IELTS or TOEFL.
