Entry Qualifications

With GCE A-Level Qualification

Candidates must satisfy the University's general entrance requirements as described in the Application and Admission section of the Undergraduate Prospectus 2008. Applicant's will also need to satisfy additional course-specific requirements. Typical offers for candidates offering A/AS levels are:

  • MEng Degrees: ABB to AAB at A level

  • BEng / BSc Degrees: BBC to BBB at A level

Candidates may replace one of these A levels with two AS levels of equivalent points.

   

With International Baccalaureate

Typical offer: at least 36 points for MEng degrees including 6 in Mathematics at the higher level; at least 34 points for BEng / BSc degrees including 5 in Mathematics at the higher level.

   

Without A-Level nor IB Qualification

For entry into the first year of an undergraduate degree in the School of Engineering at Warwick, candidates applying without A-levels from China will be expected to:

  • have a strong high school portfolio (typically 85% average or higher and including mathematics and preferably physics)

  • have successfully completed at least their first year of study at a 211 Project University or a university listed within China's top universities by the British Council

  • have achieved an overall average of 85% or equivalent (GPA approximately 3.4) with strong marks in mathematics and physics

  • have met or will meet the University's English language requirements (which for Engineering are currently IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 - 213/CBT).

We require at least one academic reference, which can be included on the UCAS application. We encourage candidates to include in sections 7a (qualifications achieved) and 7b (qualifications yet to be completed) of the UCAS application a list of the individual subjects they have taken and are taking and the associated marks, as well as their ranking at their University where this is available.

 

Accepted candidates receiving a conditional offer of acceptance will need to send confirmation of their final results in the form of transcripts from their University before the acceptance can be confirmed

Tuition Fee

The fees for the academic year 2008/2009 are £13,350 (international students). The University reserves the right to revise fees, which are payable in advance, at any time without notice. Registration is dependent upon payment of fees.

General Expenses

All students should be aware of the full costs of studying in the United Kingdom and must ensure that they have sufficient funds for the full duration of their course. It is the responsibility of each student to make all necessary financial arrangements before they commence their course. In addition to the academic fees, students will require finance to cover the following estimated expenditure for 9 months. The following figures are for the academic year 2008/2009 :
